Lead isotope heterogeneity in lead white: From lead white raw pigment to canvas

چکیده
The heterogeneity of lead isotope ratios white paints within individual paintings is evaluated. analyses five different 17th-century Dutch paintings, sampled in locations, identifies the presence isotopic a single painting. Pure pigment form cones 16th-century Venetian white, contrast, was found to be isotopically homogeneous. study evaluates origins increased evolution from pure artwork.

Evaluation of total and differential white blood cell counts in workers exposed to lead
Introduction: Lead is a toxic heavy metal that has adverse health effects on blood parameters. About 80% of lead produced is used in batteries, especially vehicle batteries. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the hematological changes, including total and differential white blood cell (WBC) counts in battery workers exposed to lead, and compare with the non-exposed group. Materials a...
متن کاملDetermining lead sources in Mexico using the lead isotope ratio.
OBJECTIVE Lead poisoning can, in some cases, be traced to a specific route or source of exposure on the basis of the individual's blood lead isotope ratio. To assess the major source of lead exposure among women residing in Mexico City, we compared blood, ceramic, and gasoline lead isotope ratios. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study population, randomly selected from participants of a large trial,...
متن کاملLead and Lead Poisoning from Antiquity to Modern Times
Lead, because of its low melting point, was one of the first metals used by man. It was probably isolated soon after the ancients discovered the use of fire. Archeological discoveries indicate the presence of lead objects and pigments during the early Bronze Age. In ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman times metallic lead was produced as a by-product of silver mining. Extensive evidence of ancient ...
متن کاملContribution of lead from calcium supplements to blood lead.
We conducted a case-control study to determine the contribution of lead to blood from consumption of calcium supplements approximating the recommended daily intakes over a 6-month period. Subjects were males and females ages 21 to 47 years (geometric mean 32 years) with a geometric mean blood lead concentration of 2.5 microg/dL. They were subdivided into three groups. One treatment group (n = 8...
